Are you hosting festive drinks with friends? Want the perfect Christmas day cocktail to impress your mother-in-law? You’re in the right place. Forged Spirits have gathered a collection of canapé and cocktail pairings that are simple to make and totally delicious.
Mulled Gin
Nothing sums up Christmas better than a steaming cup of mulled wine – it’s spicy, sweet and soothing. Forged Spirits have built on this traditional recipe to create a mulled gin, the perfect antidote to cold nights. We suggest adding the gin at the very end, but if you prefer a less alcoholic drink, adding the gin at the beginning will burn off some of the alcohol.
Serves 4
200ml of Forged Spirits Sloe Gin
600ml orange juice
4 x star anise
A pinch of cloves
2 x cinnamon sticks
2 x vanilla pod
Orange slice and star anise to garnish
Instructions:
- Add 600ml of orange juice to a pan and heat until it begins to simmer
- Add the star anise, cloves and cinnamon sticks to the saucepan. Cut down the centre of the vanilla pods and add the seeds to the pan also.
- Stir for 5-10 minutes and prevent the mulled gin from coming to a boil
- Ladle into mugs, garnish with a slice of orange and a star anise
We suggest serving this comforting drink after a long winter walk alongside these…
